With love, From King

From Jackson, MS where my education was fine arts centered from primary school. I graduated high school from Mississippi School of the Arts as a theater major and received my BFA in Dance Education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2012. My teaching experience spans public/private schools, dance studios and universities across the country, from 2012 to the present. Currently, I direct an arts advocacy nonprofit organization, Southern Black Arts Council that offers camps and workshops to various communities in MS and TN.

As a personal trainer, I specialize in weight loss, flexibility + mobility and mental health application. Teaching group fitness classes is my new favorite experience and I've opened my books to wellness coaching as of Fall 2023. I was inspired to start Black Girl Fitness after meeting and witnessing a beautiful array of women on their fitness journeys and I wanted to share their stories with the world.

I am an arts and community advocate because of the causes that are important to me. Creating space and opportunity for others to connect, learn and grow fills my heart, whether its through creative productions, community events and partnerships I am always promoting the fine arts, health, wellness and everything blackity, black, blackness... for the communities I cherish, I'm all in.
